The Most
Powerful
Democrat in Washington

A century ago, a Nobel prize winning President said "Walk softly and
carry a big stick." From looking at Dennis Kucinich, you
wouldn't know that he is the Democrat who most frightens the Bush
Administration. He is friendly and open and doesn't look
particularly scary or like someone who could take apart the toughest
criminals in D.C.. His wife looks like a top fashion model.
Remember the Matrix? Watching the
candidate is reminiscent of when Neo turns down the blue pill for the
red pill and suddenly sees that everything he knew up to that point was
a lie and that reality is something different. The moment you hear Kucinich speak, something happens.
You realize that listening to
the
speeches from all the other candidates was like taking the blue pill
that kept you in the illusion of reality. As soon as
Dennis begins his address, something inside you knows that you are in
the presence of truth and that you are about to learn more about what
is
happening in the nation's capital than you have learned in your whole
life up till that moment.
As Dennis speaks from the heart and opens up about what happens in
committee meetings and in Congressional back rooms, you realize you've
been had by other political leaders. Unlike the other
candidates, he has facts and full and complete information about events
and issues that affect your life. When audience members ask
Dennis questions at each of his events, and you watch him answer each
question
completely and without hesitation, you realize that the reason he seems
so
honest is that he holds nothing back. He never hedges his
answers. He gives the audience exactly what it wants. He
hides nothing. The
reason he can do this is that he puts the interests of the people
first. He wants to give them the information he would want
to get if he were in the
audience asking the questions. The difference between Dennis
Kucinich and all other
leaders is like the difference between daylight and blackness, between
truth and omissions and
misstatements, or between connecting and being talked at.
Given that Kucinich's honesty and pro-peace postions are the antithesis
to what one gets from Edwards or Obama, why would
any progressive even consider backing Obama or Edwards? Some
so-called progressives want an easy win more than they want to save the
world. They would rather see the world destroyed by a
Democrat
than lose to a Republican. These are the kind of
people who flock to throw their support to phony peace
candidates. They like the ease of being in the
Matrix, like the Joe Pantoliano character Cipher, who betrayed the
heroes
in the
movie for the benefits he was promised. When you see people who
say they are progressive backing Edwards or Obama, you feel sad for
them
because you know that
they care less about their principles than about
winning. Some thought Dean or Kerry
were easy wins. Neither of them is President because, when the
real fight for the Presidency started on January 6, 2005, they both
hid.
Kucinich fought for Kerry that day in Congress. But who can win a
fight for an absent leader? If Dennis had been the nominee, the
leader would have been present and we would have a Democrat in the
White House.
Cynthia McKinney says that, when you get into Congress, they give you
the
keys to the file cabinet with all the information, but you aren't supposed to
tell. Her problem was she told. In speaking truth, she
incurred the wrath of Pelosi and everyone who couldn't understand why
she put the interests of the people before the interests of the
co-conspirators in a corporate-run government. Edwards, Clinton,
Obama, Biden, Dodd and Richardson were good players who didn't
tell. Instead they worked side by side with the Republicans to
send jobs overseas, remove freedom and rights from Americans and create
and perpetuate a war that is killing hundreds of thousands of innocent
children and people while the oil companies loot the saving of
hard-working Americans. For that, they are the darlings of the
media. "Electable" is doublespeak for "keeping the
lies." When someone questions whether Kucinich can win, they are
really questioning whether he can be trusted to sell out his country as
the other candidates have done.
Dennis Kucinich has always told the truth. He has stood up
for
conscience and good leadership instead of continuing the lies and
graft. This terrifies the leadership in both parties more than
anything. It is well documented that Dick Cheney and George W.
Bush have committed major felonies while in office. However, to
impeach would be to open the doors to the file cabinet and tell
all. This is why Nancy Pelosi says impeachment is off the
table. This is why she and the establishment fear Dennis.
He has a history of opening the file cabinet. They hope the media
won't notice who the real leader of the opposition to Bush is.
Dennis's power is in his willingness to risk all to do what
is
right. In Cleveland, he risked his life and career to save the
people hundreds of millions of dollars in utility costs. When the
truth came out, he was hailed as a hero. This is part of the
reason the people of Cleveland keep re-electing him with
super majorities. They love what he has done for them.
In Congress, Kucinich has introduced Congress's most courageous bills
from holding the oil companies accountable for gouging the American
people to abolishing nuclear weapons to protecting the food
supply to abolishing the death penalty to restoring freedom and rights
to the American people to stopping global warming to bringing back
paper
ballots to creating a cabinet level Department of Peace and
Non-Violence. Other candidates may pretend to be on the people's
side of the issues. Only Kucinich has the record to prove it.
Kucinich is going further than introducing bills. He is using the
power of the subcommittee he chairs to investigate the abuses of
corporations, government officials and others in ripping off the
American people and to investigate the tainting of the food supply and
the
endangering of the people of
the United States. Dennis is the only current member of Congress
who has the courage to investigate what happened on 9/11. Later
this year, his committee will do a grounded, honest and open
investigation of the subject. Every other member of Congress has
been frightened into silence and complicity in failing to check out the
scientific facts. The victims' families have demanded answers and
only Kucinich is willing to do what it takes to find the answers for
which they are looking.
Dennis Kucinich is the leader of the opposition to the war in
Iran. While corporations are offering millions to candidates who
will say "yes" to free trade, Dennis plans to cancel NAFTA and withdraw
from the WTO when he takes office. He also plans to bring an end
to the
PATRIOT Act, an act opposed by virtually every American outside of the
federal government.
Is it any wonder that Kucinich is the most feared and the most powerful
man in Washington? The news media hopes that if they don't mention him,
no one will find out he is the only Presidential candidate fighting for
the people. They hope that people won't hear the word
"impeachment."
To become President, Kucinich needs people to believe in themselves and
in their own power. Anyone can vote for a corporate
sell-out. It takes a person of courage and conviction to vote for
a hero. When you decide whom you are going to vote for, you will
be
determining whether you are a coward or someone deserving of the right
to vote.
My generation is backing Dennis Kucinich for President. We
deserve the vote but don't have it. Does your generation deserve
the vote? We'll find out on election day.
